Hello generous donors!

Our fundraiser has been due an update for a while now, but there has been a lot going on behind the scenes at our farm, and we have been waiting for many moving parts to align before continuing with raising funds for our community farm charity.

The original fridge was eventually repaired with ease by a generous professional, which means that we are no longer on the lookout for a new one. Yay! The fridge has kept so much of our farm's produce fresh during the hot summer, so we are very grateful it was an easy fix.

With your permission, the funds we have raised for the fridge will now be redirected to re-cover our yurt which is currently not in a usable state.

Why is this important?
Wedmore Village Farm has a simple aim: to bring people together through food, nature and group opportunities.

We are developing the farm as a place where people can come to participate — growing vegetables, tending the land, spending time outdoors, learning new skills, sharing food and meeting other people.

We are particularly interested in the growing potential of Green Social Referral/social prescribing through the NHS. This is where nature, gardening and community projects can provide valuable opportunities for people who may be experiencing loneliness, low confidence, stress, isolation or other challenges in their lives.

Through partnerships with local referral services, we hope to make some of our activities available at a subsidised or free rate, ensuring that financial circumstances are not a barrier to participation.

We have been approached by therapeutic practitioners and movement facilitators who see the farm as the perfect place to support peoples' wellbeing – but we have not had the appropriate indoor space to provide them with what they need.

Our vision for the yurt is that it will provide the community with a private, cosy indoor space for therapeutic practitioners to use, and for wellbeing sessions to be held throughout the upcoming cold and wetter months.

Should you object to the new use of funds or would like to request a refund (which can be handled directly through the platform), you may do so within the next 7 days. We wanted to be absolutely transparent with the use of our funds, and to give you every opportunity to use your donation as you wish to.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions!
