We wanted to share an important update on Pastor Alex’s recovery and thank everyone who has prayed, donated, or shared his story so far. Your love and support have meant the world to our family!

Alex remains in the ICU and continues to face serious complications from his fall. He has had multiple seizures, and doctors discovered small brain bleeds that they’re monitoring closely. Thankfully, the bleeds should heal naturally with rest, medication, and time.

He also broke many of his teeth, along with his jaw, and just recently began trying to talk and swallow again. Once swelling goes down, he’ll need surgery on his jaw . This has been devastating for his family. Alex is the main provider and also owns his own roofing business, so this affects both his health and their livelihood. Living in Lake Tahoe, a small community where locals already face tough winters and limited work, makes recovery even harder.

Through it all, his faith remains unshaken. He continues to thank God for sparing his life and believes this season will become a testimony of healing and strength. Our beloved Pastor Alex Hurtado recently suffered a devastating accident while working on a roof. He slipped and fell, landing directly on his face, leaving him with multiple fractures including his jaw, nose, and teeth as well as a broken arm. He’s currently in the hospital, and specialists are determining the next steps for surgery and recovery.

Pastor Alex is the cornerstone of his family and his faith community. As the main provider for his household, this accident has brought not only immense physical pain but also deep financial strain. He has several children and grandchildren who rely on him, along with his elderly father, who lives in the same home.

For years, Pastor Alex has poured his heart into serving others helping former addicts, mentoring youth, and leading his church with compassion and faith. Many know him for his authenticity, his strength, and his willingness to reach people from all walks of life. He’s always been the one giving and helping, never asking for anything in return.

Now, he’s the one in need of help.

We’re believing God for a full recovery, but the road ahead will be long and difficult. Between surgeries, medical bills, and time away from work, this unexpected tragedy has created a heavy burden for his family.

We’re asking for prayers above all and if you feel led, any donation, no matter the amount, will help cover his medical care, recovery expenses, and support his family during this time.

Through it all, Pastor Alex continues to trust in God’s plan. His faith remains unshaken, and we believe that even in this hardship, God is not done writing his story.
