Next step for Afghan colleagues - coming to the US

We thought getting them out of Afghanistan 3 years ago was the hard part! Thank you to those who so generously donated to my Afghan colleague and his family as they have lived as refugees in Italy. The time has finally come - they will be coming to America in September, 2024. They will be settling near Atlanta, Georgia, where they have friends so they will have some moral support.

It has been a long journey for them. Arif, my assistant his wife and four children - two boys, two girls - ages 7-17 will be starting over again when they arrive in America. So too will Leila, who also worked for me, and her mother.

While they will get some resettlement help, it will take time for them to find work until they can support themselves. They will need everything when they arrive. Donations will go towards rent, furniture, school clothes and supplies and all the setup costs associated with starting a new life.

I appreciate all the previous generosity and we welcome any contributions for them.
