An RV would still be the best, but if we could just get a small storage unit, truck tent and air matress we can all lay out.
Hi! We are a family of four (myself, Mandy, a 44-year-old chef; my partner Jimmy, 46, disabled; my daughter, 12; and my 13-year-old autistic son). We needed to leave where we were and packed what we could in our '04 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. There is absolutely no wiggle room. When we left, we road-tripped a little, trying to figure out where we should put our roots. We drove through Montana, and when we arrived in Missoula, we felt like we found our new home! We love it here! The natural beauty, the people, the art scene, the welcoming community. We can't wait to become active members of the Missoula community.
Right now, we are living out of our truck and going to the library during the day. Having an RV would give us a 'home base,' showers, a kitchen, a sense of normalcy, and will help me get a job and maintain it. My son can't go camping and hardly fits in the truck for sleeping. Jimmy has back problems and nerve damage. My daughter and I struggle to get rest, and our bodies hurt. I'm sorry to ask for help while so many are suffering. I am trying to do the best for my family.
