We’re writing this as parents who are just so sad for our son, Ed, and feel terrible watching him go through so much, back-to-back. The poor guy really needs to catch a break. Ed has worked so hard to get ahead and prepare for life as a husband and, someday, a father and life seems to be kicking him the teeth a lot lately. We've all been there, right?!
Ed is 27 years old, a journeyman electrician, and one of the hardest-working men you’ll ever meet. Since starting in the trades in 2019, he’s done everything the right way — no shortcuts, no handouts — just showing up, working hard, and earning everything he has.
Ed is a good, godly man with the kind of integrity and work ethic that’s hard to find these days. He doesn’t complain, doesn’t cut corners, and never asks for help. He’s the guy who’ll stop to help a stranger and step up to protect the people he cares about.
After years of dedication, Ed finally made journeyman and has been doing well. He and his fiancée are getting married in April 2026, working hard to pay for their wedding, make rent and bills, and build a solid life together. Things were finally coming together — until recently, when everything seemed to fall apart at once.
He was laid off several weeks ago and is now sitting on the union bench with 50+ guys ahead of him waiting for work. With everything happening in the economy and in the government, the local Sacramento Hall has been very slow, and calls are barely trickling in. He's being told by his union rep that it could be some time before he is back to work so to "buckle-up". What a scary setback!
On top of this, 2 weeks ago, a thief broke into his locked garage at his apartment complex and stole every single one of his Milwaukee tools and packouts — literally everything he’s collected over the years. Roughly $8,500 worth of tools, gone overnight.
Then he found out that his renter's insurance will not reimburse him for his loss! Even though these are personal tools, the adjuster is citing a loophole about "work-tools" that gets them off the $$ hook. Gotta love California insurance (smh!). Pay the premiums only to get told "too bad, so sad"!
Now he’s out of work, out of tools, and still trying to make rent, pay his bills, and pay for his wedding. Through it all, he’s stayed positive and faithful, but it’s been one gut punch after another. The personal blows I've listed here are the just the top 3; the list goes on too long to list here, sadly.
We’re doing what we can to help, but like so many families right now, times are really tough. We would be incredibly grateful for any support to help Ed get back on his feet.
Every bit of kindness, prayer, or share means more than we can ever express.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for caring and standing behind a good man who truly deserves a break.
