A longtime leak and mold was discovered between April's family bathroom and bedroom walls and the bathroom had to be gutted. They were given only 2 days by their landlord to move out. At first they were told it would be a 3-5 week repair, but then they decided they need all of our furnishings out to make a complete assessment, and estimate it'll be another 6 months. Since they can't occupy the home during construction, they've been without a home since October 15th. Her husband had hip replacement surgery (the very experienced surgeon said his was in the top ten worst hips he'd seen!), and so he was in the hospital, then thankfully they found a rehab facility he could go to (most people are sent home at this stage). They had found a couple different rooms for him to rent out, so he could be in a safe space during his recovery, but those options will no longer be available by the end of the week, and they have no idea where he can go. April says she has worn out her welcome sleeping on other's couches and sharing small spaces. The housing market in Southern California is insane! The demand far outweighs the supply, rents are crazy high and the strict requirements rule out three quarters of people.
April has helped multiple people over the years as she is a trained homeopath and gives away her healing services to help those who cannot afford them. If you have ever been helped by this family, please consider giving so they can live in hotels or rent a room somewhere while their house is being cleaned up.
