Help Us Fight Unjust Harassment — Support David Munguia-Collazo and His Family
On the morning of April 13th, 2025, our beloved friend David Munguia-Collazo was aggressively detained by federal officers in front of his pregnant wife during a chaotic and deeply traumatic encounter. The arrest involved unnecessary force, volume and vulgar language which left his loved ones shaken and heartbroken. Even worse, David was taken to a detention center in Conroe, Texas for two weeks. He faced deportation proceedings, bruises/injuries from the aggressive ERO officer, on top of claims that he had a new resisting arrest charge. A judge has ruled that his prior deportation was a mistake, as well as the "pending" charge.
David is a man of unshakable faith, strong moral character, with deep love for his community. He is known not only for his kindness and humility, but also for his willingness to serve others without hesitation. He serves faithfully as an usher at First United Pentecostal Church of Orange and plays a vital role in the Spanish ministry under Primera Iglesia, where he demonstrates compassion and a heart for people.
David’s love for Jesus and the people of Orange County shines in everything he does—whether it’s welcoming others to church with a warm smile, volunteering his time to help those in need, or offering a listening ear to someone going through a hard time. He has consistently demonstrated his love for the community and commitment to living a righteous and peaceful life.
Even while being detained, he shared the love and hope he has for people within the walls of the processing center. Upon arrival, he did not hesitate to reach out and minister to those who have felt lost and hopeless. Within those two weeks, over 30 people have decided to give their lives to Jesus all because David gave them a listening ear and planted those seeds of hope.
We believe the detention was unjust, and we are committed to standing by David and his family every step of the way. His pregnant wife is doing her best to stay strong, but the emotional and financial burden has sent them on a never-ending rollercoaster.
Please share, donate, and keep David Munguia-Collazo and his loved ones in your prayers. A man like David should never have to fight this battle alone. Let’s come together to show him that his love, his service, and his faith are not forgotten.
We are rallying together to raise $15,000 to help cover:
- Assistance from being out of work for two weeks
- Legal defense and attorney fees
- Bond
- Travel expenses
- Support for his expecting wife and family during this difficult time
Your donation—no matter how small—will go directly toward helping David fight for justice to remain with his wife, family and church community.
