In the heart of Gaza, the air is thick with the stench of blood and destruction. Every street becomes a battlefield, where fires consume homes and shells rain down mercilessly. Children run in search of shelter, their voices trembling with fear and horror. War knows no language but that of devastation and displacement, as hunger prowls our streets, besieging hope within the walls of agony. Yet we persevere, we, the besieged, clinging to hope for a new day dawned with peace and freedom, Mohammed Abed speaks to you and welcomes you to tell you the story of his family racing against time with death.

After 450 days since the beginning of the war, my hands have begun to lose their strength, and my heart gradually loses hope. So here I am now, turning to you to share the growing tale of my family's misery and suffering. War hasn't just shattered our dreams, but it has sown chaos in our lives and left us feeling despair. Please, open your hearts and listen to my story with true human spirit.

My family consists of 10 members

- (grandfather) Omar Mohammed Abed, who is 69 years old, is a tale of resilience and perseverance in the face of tremendous challenges. He began his life with hard work to support his family and build a stable future. He established a small shop selling vegetables and fruits, and despite its destruction several times due to the wars in Gaza, he continued to work with determination and faith.

In 1999, my grandfather suffered a great shock with the loss of his son, Mohammed Omar Aabed, in the war, casting shadows of sorrow and pain over his life. He endured much hardship and his health was greatly affected by this profound loss, developing heart problems as a result.

On October 17, 2023, my grandfather lost his second son, Raja Omar Aabed, due to an airstrike on their neighbor's house, resulting in a tragic loss that deeply affected the family. Their home was severely damaged as a result of this painful incident.

Then, on April 6, 2024, my grandfather lost the love of his life due to extreme grief over the loss of her son Raja, who had passed away under similar circumstances. She suffered from chronic illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Now, my grandfather continues to suffer from the continuous pain of loss and urgently needs open-heart surgery. However, due to the war and the lack of resources, he has been unable to access the necessary treatment. I want to help him leave the Gaza.

- (Aunt's) I'timad Omar Abed, is a tale of resilience and unwavering determination in the face of formidable challenges. She chose to study media at Al-Aqsa University, aspiring to contribute to her community and build a bright future. However, despite her qualifications, she was not afforded the opportunity to work due to the ongoing wars and difficult circumstances in Gaza.

Additionally, luck was not on her side when it came to matters of the heart, as she did not find the right person to fulfill her dreams. Despite these challenges, she remained optimistic about a better future.

Disaster struck I'timad's life when her brother, Raja, was killed in an airstrike targeting their neighbor's house. The loss of her beloved brother left her shattered, compounded by the destruction of their home, further deepening her despair.

The pain intensified with the loss of her mother due to grief over Raja and the ongoing fear of intense airstrikes. Additionally, her mother suffered from various illnesses, exacerbated by the lack of access to necessary medical care and the constant threat of violence.

Despite her relentless efforts to overcome the obstacles in her path, I'timad was not given the opportunity to escape the cycle of suffering. Her story reflects the harsh reality faced by many in Gaza, where hope is often overshadowed by the ongoing turmoil of wars and hardships.

- (Father) Imad Eddin Omar Abed, The one who is 50 years old tells an inspiring story of sacrifice and dedication. He studied computer engineering but couldn't find job opportunities due to the wars and the tough economic situation we are going through in Gaza. He couldn't find a sufficient source of income to support his family, so he turned to selling goods in the markets to provide for his younger siblings.

Despite the difficult circumstances, he found love and got married, embarking on building his life with seriousness and dedication. He worked tirelessly to provide his family with basic needs and to offer his children care and love.

However, as he grew older, he began to suffer from heart diseases and chronic health issues, such as angina, and unfortunately, he couldn't access the necessary treatment due to the harsh conditions imposed by the war and the lack of healthcare.

Despite all the difficulties, my father continued to work hard and diligently, facing challenges with courage and determination, seeking to ensure the safety and happiness of his family. My father's story embodies the spirit of resilience and sacrifice, reminding us of the power of will and love in facing the toughest of circumstances.

- (Mother) Amal Muhammad Abed, who is 44 years old, is a testament to selflessness and sacrifice amidst adversity. She pursued a degree in biology at Al-Aqsa University, aspiring to build a career and contribute to society. However, like many others, she never had the opportunity to work as the wars shattered their dreams.

Instead, she devoted her life to raising her children, sacrificing her own aspirations for their well-being. Despite her dedication, she struggled with several chronic illnesses, including severe respiratory issues exacerbated by the proximity of airstrikes. Whenever there was bombing nearby, she would struggle to breathe due to the thick smoke, relying on an inhaler to regain her breath. Unfortunately, these inhalers were scarce in clinics and hospitals due to the ongoing war, putting her life at risk every moment she couldn't breathe properly and with the lack of necessary treatment.

I want to help her leave Gaza as soon as possible to ensure her safety and access to the medical care she urgently needs.

Your speaker, Mohammed Abed, My story begins with my graduation from Palestine University, majoring in Information Technology in 2022, marking the start of a promising future. However, I didn't find suitable opportunities in my field, so I turned to work in local markets.

I embarked on a journey to find a source of livelihood through selling sweets, sandwiches, and fast food. My days were filled with hard work and exhaustion, yet my ultimate goal was to provide for my family's daily needs and help them bear the expenses.

Despite the strong determination and high morale I carried, life presented me with unexpected challenges. I found myself responsible not only for myself and my future, but also for my family, who relied on me significantly.

My personal dreams took a back seat, while the priority now became providing daily food and drink for us. Things turned into a daily struggle for survival, but with each new day, I held onto hope to achieve my dreams and improve my family's circumstances.

As I struggle with my family to face the daily challenges, I realize that survival is not an option, but a vital necessity. Our daily battle has shifted from merely trying to survive to a desperate attempt to escape, especially with the increasing tension and fear in the current situation in Gaza. Therefore, my main mission now is to seek a way out of this tragic environment and provide a safe and stable future for my family.

-(Brother)Omar Imad Abed, who is 22 years old, was looking forward to completing his university education and achieving his dream of graduating. However, due to the war that swept through Gaza, his dreams turned to ashes. His university was destroyed and his studies were canceled, leaving him hopeless about continuing his education.

In addition, Omar suffers from chronic illnesses such as asthma, and he relies on inhaler medication to alleviate his symptoms. However, this treatment is not readily available in the area. His condition worsens day by day, and he suffers increasingly, with no opportunity for proper treatment.

Despite these significant challenges, his desire and dream to complete his education and receive appropriate medical care remain alive in his heart. He wishes from the bottom of his heart for better days to come, where he can finally achieve his aspirations and escape from the difficult situation he is living in.

-(Sister) Tasneem Imad Abed And Ranem Imad Abed, their sisters, carried big dreams and aspirations, like any young women in the prime of their lives. Tasnem, who was supposed to finish the eleventh grade and join high school, dreamed of learning, growing, and building a bright future. Meanwhile, Raneem, who was looking forward to completing her current stage of education and moving on to the next, held similar hopes.

But war came to change all of that, destroying their school and cancelling their learning opportunities, leaving their dreams hanging between the sky and the ground, with nothing left but to wait amidst the rubble of war and constant threats. In these tough moments, hope should remain their motivation, their goal should be survival and clinging to life, and certainly, we wish them safety and success, so they can finally resume their education in a safe environment far from the danger of war and death.

-(Brother)Khalid Imad Abed And Ibrahim, My brothers, Khalid and Ibrahim, are still children, yet they witness all these events of destruction and death. Khalid hasn't even passed the fifth grade, and Ibrahim is still in kindergarten; he was supposed to move on to the second grade, but due to the war and destruction, that didn't happen. They suffer from fear day after day, and the diseases like chickenpox and scabies have afflicted them due to contaminated food and water, which little children cannot tolerate. Every day, we struggle to calm them down from the constant fear, anxiety, and endless tears. Ibrahim suffers from chronic illnesses like asthma and urgently needs treatment.

I will share with you some pictures of the extent of the destruction that befell our small home.

I will share with you some pictures from our life inside the tents

The goal of this initiative is to rebuild our home from the rubble and reignite the spark of hope in our lives, so we can reclaim our dignity and start anew.

Our home, once a sanctuary of dreams and safety, is now nothing but rubble.

On the Fadlifa axis, our house was completely destroyed by the brutal attacks of the occupying forces, turning everything we held dear into debris. Today, we are a family without a shelter, wandering the streets of Gaza under the weight of fear and cold, unable even to secure a tent to protect our children from the harsh conditions.

This harsh reality was not something we ever imagined, but it is the painful truth we face now. The cost of rebuilding our home exceeds $50,000, an amount we have no means of gathering. Each passing day without a solution deepens our wounds and amplifies our suffering.

We appeal to you, compassionate souls, who possess a kind heart, to become part of our fight against despair. Extend your hand to help us raise this enormous amount we need to rebuild our home. This is not just about restoring walls, but about rebuilding our lives, our security, and the hope that has been shattered by war.

Every donation from you will be a beam of hope in our dark lives, and every bit of help brings us closer to a dignified life. We are in desperate need of your support, and our only option is to trust in your boundless humanity.
