My fight to rebuild: education, family and home
My name is Mohammed Kamal Qofa, I am 23 years old, and I am a final-year student in software development engineering at the Islamic University of Gaza. Until recently, my life was filled with the promise of a bright future. I was on the cusp of graduating, using my skills at Access Line, and building a life for myself and my family.
Then everything changed. Devastating bombings destroyed my university, putting my education in jeopardy. The company I was working for was also damaged, eliminating my source of income. Worst of all, my house was destroyed and burned as well and is no longer safe, And the worst of all is that I lost my dear father in this war on 07/09/2024. His departure affected us greatly, as he was our source of inspiration and also our provider and spent on us. In the blink of an eye, I lost everything I had worked for.

- This video shows you the extent of the great destruction that befell my university

Here are some moments from my university and work life with my colleagues:
- A picture of me and my friends in the university square, which was destroyed by the occupation during the war .

- A photo with the Access Line team

- This photo is from a ceremony for the top students in software development .

- This photo is with my friends on the weekend

- Photo with my friends on summer vacation

All these moments and memories were destroyed by the war.
"I hope all my friends are still alive "

I reach out because I refuse to give up. My dream of becoming a software engineer is more important than ever. I believe that education is the key to a better future for me and my family.

Despite our experience with all the previous attacks and escalations, I share my story on this platform. We have never lived through such a violent and terrifying genocide. It is not the horror of bombing and death, but the greatest horror is my inability to give my family safety and ensure that all of this ends soon and does not We were able to provide the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothing, and medicine, and my inability to complete my university education, and most importantly, the certainty of survival for the sake of my family. I write these details about the hell we live in, like thousands of families in Gaza, and I ask you to help me get us to safety, because we simply deserve to live a normal life to the fullest. I assure you that it is difficult for me to make this request, but the amounts required are very large and we came out with the least we had.

We need €60,000 (equivalent to $63,500) to secure the following:

1. $45,000 (equivalent to €42,705 ) to ensure coordination of exit through the Rafah crossing. This is the amount that must be paid to include names on the travel lists, where the cost for an individual over 18 years old is $5,000 (equivalent to €4,685 ), and children under 18 years old is $2,500 (equivalent to €2,342 ), as my family consists of 12 people, 6 of whom are over 18 years old, and 6 children. (We were 13 people before my father died)

2. $2,500 (equivalent to €2,373) to secure temporary housing for them in Egypt.

3. $1,500 (equivalent to €1,424) to provide clothes suitable for the current climate until we are able to provide for our basic needs again.

4. $2,000 (equivalent to €1,898) to secure my university studies abroad.

5. $12,500 (equivalent to €11,863) to renovate and build our house.

6. The site percentage is 2.9% x $63,500 = $1,841 (equivalent to €1,747)

Your contribution will help me:

Completing my studies outside Gaza: I am seeking to move to a safe university where I can finish my studies.
Moving my family: Finding a safe place for them to live is crucial.
Rebuilding our home: The future seems uncertain, but providing a safe haven for my family is essential.
Even the smallest donations can make a big difference.

I understand that times are difficult, but any amount you can contribute will bring me closer to rebuilding my life and achieving my dream. Together, we can turn this tragedy into an opportunity for a brighter future.

Thank you for your sympathy and support.

sincerely,

Mohammed Kamal Qofa
