Help Mirtes Commute Safely

Hi, my name is Mirtes Aragao. I’m 56 years old and a mother of four. Three of my children still live with me — one is in middle school, one in high school, and my oldest son is 22 and currently struggling to find a job.
I work part-time and live in Connecticut, where having a car is essential. It’s not a metropolitan area — there are no bike lanes, and public transportation is limited. When my car broke down for good, I had no choice but to start commuting to work on an electric scooter.
I’ve been riding in the freezing cold and even in dangerous traffic conditions just to get to and from work. The roads in my area aren’t made for scooters or bikes, and it’s not safe — but I have no other option right now.
Getting a car would completely change my situation. It would allow me to take on a second job, safely get to work, and better support my kids. Right now, all of my income goes toward food and basic needs.
If you’re able to help in any way, I would be deeply grateful. Every bit helps me get closer to having reliable transportation.Thank you so much and God bless you.
