Support the Hunt Family's Renovation Recovery
Donation protected
Hello, we’re the Hunt family and we believe in Jesus Christ! My husband, a disabled veteran, and I bought a home through a VA loan to renovate last year 2023. We hired a contractor, who claimed to be Christians as well, to do the work on our home. They worked on it from February to May and then left the project, taking our money (+$70,000 that we have to pay back) and leaving us with an incomplete renovation. Along with that, they did inferior work and now our home is worse off than it started, having to undo and redo what they’ve done. We’re a family of 4 living off of one income and would greatly appreciate your help fixing our home.
Also, if you know any contractors or businesses that may donate materials to families in need or even any volunteer organizations that we should reach out to that can help with labor that would be a blessing. We are willing to join in on any DIY efforts to help make our home into the vision we had set for out family. The seasons are changing and the storms are worsening. We have survived the latest storms in Texas with mostly minimal water damage, but we understand that stronger storm systems are on the way.
For reference, we’re trying to get the funds to complete the following items below:
- repair/replace all windows
- dry in the home, soffits, fascia, siding, gutters
- repair electrical
- repair plumbing
- repair septic
- repair leak in roof
- install piers to fix foundation
