My mom is homeless and needs help. We have been urged by many friends to create this fundraiser but resisted due to pride. However, today, my siblings and I are giving in and humbly asking for your help.

Our mother, Terri Harrison Ramirez, is 64 years old, and living in Crescent City, California. She’s a loving mother and grandmother, now facing homelessness after the place where she was renting a room was foreclosed. With only $1,100 a month in fixed income, she cannot afford current market rent.

She is seeking emergency homelessness assistance from the city, which may help her for the next 16 days, but after that, she will likely have to move into a homeless shelter. We’ve applied for housing assistance, but the wait time is up to a year.

As her children, it breaks our hearts that we cannot provide our mom with permanent rent or housing ourselves. My siblings and I are all supporting families of our own with young children to care for, and while we’re doing everything we can to help in the short term, it simply won’t be enough to sustain Mom until she gets the permanent housing she desperately needs.

That’s why we are turning to you for help. Your financial support will go directly toward our goal of securing temporary housing for Mom until a permanent solution is available. Even the smallest contribution can make a huge difference.
