Help us help the Homeless with a Delivery Van
Our Fight to Conquer Homelessness
Please help us deliver 4 x times as much to those in need with a small delivery Van and/or warehouse.
My sister and I started a charity called Hayden's Helping Hands because we're on a mission to conquer homelessness in Melbourne, Australia. It's been five years now supporting those in need across the streets of Melbourne. In the past 12 months, we've been able to distribute:
- over 6,000 items of toiletries, clothing and other essentials plus
- over 1,800 food items
Every weekend, my family and I go into the city and help the homeless by delivering them food, water, blankets and other toiletries. If they're asleep we leave little care packages next to them for when they wake up.
Right now, my sister and I are hoping to raise funds for a Van and small warehouse so that we can reach more homeless people across Melbourne. A Van would let us quadruple the amount of items we could deliver and a warehouse would let us take on more, much needed donations. Our car is packed to the BRIM every week. By having a Van, it would make such a difference to so many more people who desperately need it.
We're also calling on State and Federal Governments to meet with us to discuss how together we can conquer homelessness in Australia. If you're reading this and work in the Government, get in touch!
We were recently recognised with the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts - The Diana Award. In memory of Princess Diana, The Diana Award honours young people for going above and beyond in their daily lives to create and sustain positive change. Receiving it on behalf of the Hayden's Helping Hands community motivates us to continue our work.
