‼️‼️[URGENT UPDATE!! AUG 2025.]‼️‼️
WE NEED TO MOVE BY JANUARY 2026. We are STRUGGLING. We have made plans to get a rental with two other friends, two hours away from where we are now. We have nowhere else to go. The place we're living in currently is a small room, sleeping both of us on a king single mattress. There's 6 people in the house. The house itself is NOT accessible in the slightest, and very long. This makes it very hard and painful to navigate. With my [Michael's] Fibromyalgia, discs and other health issues, this has become VERY painful and is heavily labouring my healing, physical and mental health. I'm in pain constantly due to sharing such a small space and having no accomodations. I can barely fit my walker through the doors in the house. I can only use my wheelchair in the kitchen/part of the loungeroom on the OTHER side of the house. I struggle showering here aswell due to no accommodations. Kai is struggling to find a job, and is with a program trying to help him get a job but NOWHERE is listening/they're all too picky. He's had ONE job interview THIS YEAR. ONE. We're trying our hardest. Please, share or donate if you can. Anything and everything helps We just want a chance at a comfortable, liveable life
I apologise for the stress on this update, we are genuinely really struggling and we need to move.
[OUR STORY/ORIGINAL POST]
Hi, we’re Michael and Kai, two 18-year-old trans men facing numerous challenges. Both of us have disabilities that prevent me from working and make it hard for Kai to find a job. We come from abusive, unsupportive families, so we have no help other than friends/found family and Kai's mother, who we are deeply grateful for!
I [Michael] had to leave home due to lifelong transphobic and ableist abuse and neglect from both parents. My mother neglected my medical needs, forced me to detransition, and caused immense emotional and physical harm and trauma. Now, I’m unable to work because of my untreated disability. I receive Centrelink payments, but they don’t cover rent, food, and medications which I need to function in my day-to-day life.
Kai’s situation is also tough. He faced family abuse, leading to multiple unstable living situations. He was living with his chronically ill mother in neglectful NDIS housing, once he turned 18, he was forced to move out by the rental company as he himself is not under ndis and had nowhere else to go, leaving his only option to move into the sharehouse with me, hours away from his previous home in a different city. Kai is struggling to find a job and because of this, is unable to support himself or the household financially until he can find suitable work or income. Centrelink isn't helping and is refusing to supply payments.
We’re both struggling financially, making it impossible to save for a stable, accessible home. Any donations or shares are greatly appreciated and a huge help.
