The Harari Amana Foundation (HAF) is a non-profit organization focused on improving the welfare of the elderly in Ethiopia. Since 2018, HAF has raised funds to provide no income seniors, over the age of 50, with monthly stipends to cover their basic needs. Currently, HAF provides $1,000 ETB monthly to 156 impoverished elders - this pension covers housing, food, and healthcare for our most vulnerable Hararis. In addition to monthly stipends, HAF has ongoing projects to improve home conditions, support to attend Jummah prayers, physical check-ups, and more.
Although we have been fortunate enough to support many families, our waiting list of elders continues to outpace the funds we have on hand. Without further funding, our program is in jeopardy of supporting our needy Hararis.
Insha’Allah, with your help this Ramadan, we can raise the funds needed to establish HAF’s first WAQF Project. Creating financial sustainability for our non-profit organization is vital to its longevity and HAF has been working diligently to make the organization financially self-sustainable. To secure a reliable source of income and ensure the continuity of care to our beloved elders, our HAF WAQF Project’s goal is to raise $349,000 USD to purchase a rental property in Atlanta, Georgia. All revenue from the rental property will be redirected to the monthly stipends for disadvantaged Hararis. Insha’Allah, this will help us alleviate donor fatigue, increase financial independence, and allow us to provide support to those on our waiting list.
With Allah’s (SWT) support and guidance, and committed members like you, our WAQF PROJECT will become a reality sooner than later. Please help us get HAF to the next level by inviting and encouraging your friends and family to contribute to this noble cause.
