Stop Hate Crime - Help support Asian businesses

My name is Kerry Yip, I grew up in Oakland and am a proud Asian small restaurant business owner of Great Wall Vegetarian Restaurant in Rockridge. First the pandemic and now AAPI attacks. Our heart breaks for all the hatred, fear, pain and struggles that have surged over the past year. Thankfully no one was physically hurt during this act of vandalism, but during the pandemic, Asians across the country and across the globe, have lived in fear due to mass xenophobia. We have been victims of shootings, racial abuse, burglary, beatings and destroyed property. Even if we are not physically hurt, there is emotional scarring from all the traumatizing and frequent AAPI attacks. We come from a family of immigrants but grew up in America, sustaining and also blending our traditions and foods. We are Chinese and we are American. We welcome all people through our doors and enjoy the opportunity to share our cuisine. In the past decades we have immigrated to California, we have always loved the Bay Area and we love our community. We wish to continue serving our community and to live as one cohesive society. We would appreciate any donations that could go into repairing any damages toward the window.
