The State of Tennessee is trying to remove Sevyn Jenkins from her loving parents, one active duty the other a veteran on a false suspicion of abuse.
How We Found Out About the Injury
On Feburary 26, 2020 Sevyn went to her 2 month check up, the results were that she was a healthy baby and her pediatrician felt she was exceptionally well taken care of and loved. She received her vaccines and was sent home. Later that night Sevyn began to feel hot. Her parents monitored her and was concerned when her fever began to increase so they went to the Emergency Room. It was there that they did a septic work-up and x-rays, which is also odd for a complaint of fever after va vaccination because that is a normal reaction to a vaccination. The normal protocol is tylenol and wait. It was here that we find out that the x-rays revealed the Sevyn had suffered 20 rib fractures and a left clavicle fracture. Sevyn was sent to CPS hospital Vanderbilt where the hospital refused to consult with any of the medical disciplines that would have been able to thoroughly access Sevyns records. Like a endocrinologist, pathologist, neonatal specialists or perhaps even an ObGyn.
Sevyn presented with low vitamin D and low red blood cell count. The child abuse care team stated this wouldn't be suspected to raise cause for metabolic bone disease because the levels weren't that low dispite the medical literature stating that vitamin D levels can also be normal and there still be a metabolic bone disease present.
What the Doctors Said and the Problem
The radiologist stated the clavicle could ha vee e resulted from birth trauma but its unlikely that the fractures came from birth trauma. Dispite the medical literature stating that multiple fractires can and do indeed happen during birth and can also be the result of a metabolic bone disease such as infantile rickets. The medical literature also states that in 91-100% of the cases of child physical abuse where there were multiple rib fractures there was and had to be internal organ damage due to the amount of extreme force that would be needed to feacture a childs pliable ribs. It's easier to break an adults ribs than it is a childs.
The orthopedist who saw Sevyn stated that he wanted to see her back in 6-8 weeks in case these fractures showed up as a metaboluc bone diease....so even he had doubt that this could be something else.
The actual child abuse specialist on the cases stated "absent any idetifiable underlying disease the injury is most consistent with child physical abuse". What she left out is all the other diseases that Sevyns injuries could also be consistent with OTHER THAN abuse. Such as the various forms of metabolic bone disease and birth trauma amongst other things that the other doctors in those other specializations may have been able to provide had they been consulted.
The Delivery Story
The truth is that DCS doesn't care that Sevyn wasn't abused because they have other plans to sell baby Sevyn on the open market. DCS knows that baby Sevyn suffered her injuries during birth. Sevyn was stuck in the birth canal, turned side ways and stuck by her shoulder. After attempts to deliver her by pulling and tugging were failed the midwife who had never seen Sevyns mother Spc. Shakia decided, without permission, to do an episiotomy. They asked the father to stop recording to help them with the delivery which is odd and wrong. They pylled and tugged some more after the first cut and the baby still didn't deliver. The midwife performed a second episiotomy pulled and tugged some more and baby Sevyn finally arrived after her mother had been in labor for almost 2 days on December 25, 2019.
DCS has been retaliating against my family because I refuse to stop advocating for my family. I've been gagged and white DCS women have threatened jail because I am exposing them. I can no longer see my grandaughter by Judges order and my mother has been sentenced to stay in Montgomery County indefinitely as placement. The Judge will not allow her to come home to Virginia with the baby in order for her to also be able to continue to take care of her 97 year old mother. Telling her if she needed to go home he would just put the baby in foster care. Foster care is not supposed to be used as a mechsnism of punishment or retaliation for advocating.
DCS has kidnapped our baby before, while denying her breast milk and medical attention. We got her back after 6 weeks and having to incur over $10,500 in lawyer fees. We are now financially destitude. The lawyers to include our own, family court and the DCS agency all work together in taking these children. Saying this is the worst experience ever is an understatement.
We're raising funds in order to ensure the safe return of Sevyn to her parents and to be able to continue our advocacy to help other parents that may be falsely accused of abuse and neglect. We can't fight this fight without you please donate and help us keep families and children safe.
