Glory Buddhist Temple Covid-19 Donation
Dear friends, my name is Romany Meas. I am reaching out to you because I have great concerns for the well-being of the all the monks and nuns who are residing at Glory Buddhist Temple during this time of Covid-19.
As we navigate during the uncertainty of Covid-19, many lives are being affected by this virus mentally, physically, and financially. Monks and nuns at Glory Buddhist temple are no exception; every day, they depend on lay people entering the temple to offer food, medicine, and donations to help support with the needs of the temple such as: mortgage, insurance, water, utility, etc. Due to the unfortunate circumstances with Covid-19, people are unable to come in and make regular offerings or donations to monks and nuns at the temple. For this reason they are facing great hardships.
Glory Buddhist Temple is located on 24 Cambridge Street, Lowell, MA. A well-known prestige Buddhist temple that is loved by so many Khmer people in the community, both near and far. Monks at Glory Buddhist Temple are skilled in dhamma, they practice rightly, straightly and are very kind. They would never turn down any services needed by anyone. It doesn’t matter if it is a funeral service, 100 days for the deceased service, gratitude service, or fund-raising service to help the poor.
Furthermore, Glory Buddhist Temple extend services by providing free education courses for children to learn the Khmer language and literature in all levels, as well as Dhamma and meditation courses for everyone who finds them necessary and can benefit from. Glory Buddhist Templeis always open, and monks are always there making themselves available to help facilitate others and the community when they are in need. Personally speakingfor me, my family, as well as so many of my friends and their families have received great help and benefits from the temple and monks, especially during dark and sad times when we grieve and lament for the loss of our loved ones.
Glory Buddhist Temple has been the backbone of our Khmer community in Lowell. It is more than a house of homage; it is a major cultural center providing much-needed community cohesion and service for many Cambodians. In the real sense, temples are the center of the restoration and preservation of the traditional Cambodian, or Khmer, culture, which was suppressed under the communism. I cannot overemphasize their importance to the Cambodian community.
Therefore, I ask for your kindness to help support Monks and nuns at Glory Buddhist Temple during these hard times. For they are always there for each and every one of us when we are in need, and it feels right for all of us coming together to help them when they are in need. It is compassion and kindness that strongly binds us together under one roof of humanity. Thank you all so much. May you and your family be free from illness and suffering. May you and your family be well and happy.
