Hiya! We are Laura Enright & Roisin Horan from Glin, Co. Limerick. Laura is in 3rd year in NUIG and Roisin is in 2nd year in UL. This August, we will be volunteering at a school in a marginalised community in Juaso, Eastern Ghana. Our responsibilities include teaching children basic English and Maths, as the majority of them will have not received any formal education. We will also be working with a local youth club & helping in the community.

We will travel with USIT who have placed us with a volunteer organisation called SYTO Ghana, with whom the cost of one month of volunteer work comes to €2,246 per person. This covers training, flights, accommodation with a local host family, travel insurance, Garda vetting and 24/7 support from their project team. We aim to raise a total of €4,500 between us, through bucket collections in local supermarkets, a coffee morning in Glin on 23rd April, busking, and a charity gig in Galway.
