Gillian & Nick's IVF Baby Quest

In November of 2014 I met the man that would change my life. When Nick and I met we knew instantly that we had found forever in each other. After a year and a half, we wanted to start our future together. Our goals were to save money to get married, buy a house and start a family. Nicks parents very generously invited us to live with them to more quickly attain these goals. We moved in with them in June 2016. A few months later we were settled into our new lives, excited and ready to kick some money saving butt!
In September of 2016 all our plans came crashing down around us. I went to the Dermatologist to get a birthmark on the side of my head looked at because it had started growing. A week later the biopsy came back. I answered the call from the Dr. and heard the worst words you can hear, "It is Melanoma, you have cancer" My heart sank, I text Nick to come home from work...

In October 2016 I had surgery to remove the Melanoma that left behind a 6in x 7in bald spot on the side of my head. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Melanoma that had moved in a lymph node.
At an appointment to talk about treatment, my Oncologist asked Nick and I if we wanted children. The question shocked us at first, it didnt even cross our minds that this nasty cancer could affect our dreams of having a family. We both told him yes without hesitation.
That question led us to now. We are beginning the process of working with a fertility clinic to freeze embryos until after I have completed treatment. The cost of freezing embryos is very expensive totaling $20,000 and that is with a 25% discount! I am not working due to surgery and upcoming treatments so we are living on Nicks income only. Asking for help is the hardest most humbling thing I've done. I ask myself, why would total strangers care about this? I hope you can look into your hearts and help any way you can. We need all the help, prayers, positive thoughts and vibes we can get right now to keep our hope alive of having children of our own. Thank you!
