George's Volunteer Expedition to Borneo

Borneo 2026 - Supporting community, wildlife and environment conservation projects with a challenging jungle trek!

Hi, my name is George and I am looking to raise funds for a once in a lifetime expedition to Borneo.

This will be a really challenging trip away from home for four weeks but I am really looking forward to working and playing with the local community and finding out more about their unique culture. Plus we will also be doing a 4 day jungle trek adventure!

During our time in Borneo we will be getting stuck into some community project work. This will include things like building classrooms and installing water storage systems. We are also going to help the orangutangs by doing environmental projects like planting and regrowing more trees.

In order for me to book a place on the trip, I need to raise £4,750 and I'm going to work really hard to earn it through different sponsorship activities.

*Good Friday Triathlon Challenge!!!*

I am determined to work hard and earn my sponsorship so I’m going to really challenge myself on this event which will be a Lake District triathlon.

This won’t just be any triathlon though… we’ll be setting off at sunrise to take on a 15 mile bike trail around Coniston Lake. Then onto scramble 7 miles, climbing up 1,800 feet to the summit of Hard Knott Fell. To finish off, we’ve saved the hardest bit until last with a freezing wild-swim in Tongue Pot lagoon - no wetsuits allowed!!!

I know this is going to be tough so I’ve been getting in plenty of training by going to the gym, running, football and cold showers/baths!
