Dear brothers and sisters in either humanity, and assalaamu alaykum to those in faith,

I am Ragab, reaching out to you from Gaza with a great urgency and desperation due to ongoing targeted bombing in the last few days.

(My brother, next to our devastated home.)

We are the Ellouh family of 11, at the merciless hands of a genocide in Gaza. Innocent people are being killed, and I worry my family and children could be next. We have experienced heavy bombing in Nuseirat in the last week.

Our family's dreams, which our dad worked so hard to make a reality, have disappeared.
We had to leave our home to find a place safe from danger, but no place is safe here in Gaza. Our journey ended with us living in a small tent, away from the north. Here, it's really hard to get enough food and water. But the cold is worse—it bites into us, making every night a struggle to stay warm. This is very hard for everyone, but for the youngest in our family - Zeina, who is 3, and Yehya, not even 1 yet, who should be playing, not shivering. The women are facing tough times, too, without safety or warmth. Now, our home is a tent where we face cold, hunger, and fear daily.

Our very last chance of hope for survival is getting to safety, past the Rafah border into Egypt. We can’t do that without a permit and funds for crossing fees needed to leave Gaza at Egypt-Gaza border in Rafah ($6,000 for over 16s and $3,000 for under). On top of that, 2.9% Gofundme transaction fees which include $0.30 per donation & provision for food ($70-$100 daily for 11) as we are facing a famine, and cold, without work for weeks.

This makes the maximum amount we need for survival to be:
- $60k (permits and crossing fees)
- $4k (food and clean, uncontaminated water and GoFundMe fees)

= $64k

The prices have been rising over weeks. There used to be an airport here, Gaza International Airport. However, it was bombed in 2002 by Israel. Israel has been relentlessly bombing Rafah too, despite international protests, slimming our chances of evacuation. Every second that passes brings the distressing fear of a loss of life.

Rafah was the very last safe zone in Gaza and we had been trying for weeks without financial support to even grant one permit in February, but with your generous donations we saw hope in March. Will you be able to fulfill our dreams for the entire family to leave in May?

These permits are not tickets for travel; they resemble at least, our permits for survival and at best, a chance at life.

Zeina and Yehya, innocently playing in our simple tent that shelters our family.

We just want to live in peace, without fear. As hard as it is to ask for help, we believe in the kindness of people around the world. Your donation means so much more than money. For Zeina and Yehya, your help means a chance to have a normal childhood, full of laughter and joy, not fear. It gives hope for a future where they can play under the sun, not hide from bullets and missiles. It's about bringing back the dreams that the war tried to take from us.

Your donation can make a big difference for us. Included are my family’s details, and our story. We are striving to navigate through these turbulent times with iman (faith) and perseverance.

We are reaching out with hope in our hearts, believing that there are people who care.
Please, if you can, help us in any way. Every bit of help gets us closer to hope, closer to safety. Stand with us, please.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Your brother Ragab and the Ellouh family.

Our Family
Imagine a world where in just one moment, everything you've dreamed of and worked for is destroyed by war. This is not a story from a book; this is our life.

I come from a highly educated and accomplished family. I work as a designer, my father is retired, my sister Haya is a school teacher with a Bachelor's degree in English, my brother Ahmad is a lawyer, Mohammad is an engineer, Hala is a psychologist, and Anas is a nutritionist currently in his final year of studies. Unfortunately, his university was destroyed. My wife works as a secretary.

Our family names are
Yehya M. Ellouh
Rajab Y. Ellouh
Suheer M. Abo.Eloaf
Ahmed Y. Ellouh
Mohammad Y. Ellouh
Anas Y. Ellouh
Haya Y. Ellouh
Hala Y. Ellouh
Esraa A. Tolba, has two children, Yehya R. and Zeina R. Ellouh.

Before all this, our dad bought two apartments for two of my brothers, hoping for a good future, but bombs destroyed those homes. Another brother saved up to buy his own apartment, dreaming of getting married, but his home was also ruined by the war. It's not just the buildings that we lost; it's our hope for a happy future that was taken away. Now, we have nothing left.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Your brother Ragab and the Ellouh family
