The candidate
Gail is a Highland Councillor, Caithness Civic Leader and Mum to Max, 5. She sits on the Board of North Highland College UHI, Caithness and North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership and the Regeneration Fund and has a particular interest in equality, animal rights and children & young people.
The campaign
Local SNP members are gearing up to help Gail fight this year's election. In fact our campaign has already started - but we do need your help to win. Our local campaign will be funded by the branches of Caithness, Sutherland and Ross SNP with contributions from the SNP Highland Council Group. We'd love you to help our campaign in any way you can.
What do we need money for?
These are the major campaign expenses we need to fund.
Campaign literature. In the next few months we'll leaflet the entire constituency a number of times. It's really important to get accurate information out to voters and to make it easy for them to get in touch with us. We will also have SNP declaration cards for doorstep and street stall work so that people can pledge their support.
Area specific messages. As the constituency is so vast, we know there are different challenges in different areas. We need to make sure the voters know we are aware of these challenges and what action is needed to help.
Posters & other material. We want to give window posters, stickers, and badges to any supporter that would like to show their support. A good display of window posters and a high profile ensures everyone knows there is an election on and encourages SNP supporters to get out and vote.
Public meetings. We will be holding public meetings throughout the constituency, to try and meet as many people as possible, and get our message out.
So these are the kinds of things we are asking you to help fund. Fighting a really good local campaign requires money and we want to fight the best campaign possible.
It's really important that we take nothing for granted. Opinion polls may show us in the lead but we are going to campaign for every single vote in this constituency, just as we have always done.
You can donate any amount. Please be assured that any donation, however small or large, will make a real difference and help us secure a decisive win in Caithness, Sutherland and Ross.
If you are kind enough to donate more than £50 to our campaign, your name and address will be checked against your local electoral register to ensure that you are eligible to donate; and your donation will be included in our declaration to the Electoral Commission. This return may be inspected by the public on request after the election, when your name will be made available, but not your address.
