Hi, I’m Colm Flood.
We appreciate your attention to this page. In essence, my campaign is dedicated to reorienting our government's priorities toward community, centric concerns.
I’m running in the Dublin Central by election, not because politics excites me, but because I’ve stood beside people in hard times and I know we deserve better.
My motivations started when I lost my mum to cancer in 2017, and in that moment, I stepped up to raise my younger sister.
I’ve seen firsthand what it means to carry responsibility, to struggle, and to keep going when things feel stacked against you. That’s what drives me.
This campaign is about the people I meet every day the ones working hard but struggling with rising costs, the families waiting years for housing, and those who feel ignored or left behind.
I’m not backed by big corporate interests. I’m supported by people who believe in building a fairer, kinder Dublin.
I’m running in this by-election because I’ve spent my life standing with our community.
I’m very passionate, and during my time, I’ve helped lead the Cost of Living Coalition March of over 100,000 people, campaigning for better supports for those hit hardest by rising costs.
I’ve fought for fair access to social welfare so people on disability allowance and other supports can live with dignity and security.
I’ve campaigned to restore full dental care for medical card holders, something that was promised but still hasn’t been delivered while people suffer. Our Dental Hospital works so hard a shout-out to the student clinic " your work and dedication do Trinity College credit.!"
I’ve worked with Uplift to tackle vacant homes and push for stronger use of the voids scheme, because no one should be waiting up to 16 years for a home while houses sit empty.
I’ve supported countless people through organisations like ISPCC Childline, Dublin Samaritans, St John Ambulance, and the Order of Malta. I’ve worked with Age Action, Third Age, and community groups supporting older people, and I’ve helped build anti-racism and inclusion initiatives across Wicklow and South Dublin.
I’ve been honoured with the 1916 and 2016 Medal of Honour from the Brigade of St John Ambulance but the real honour for me is standing up and fighting for people every day.
This campaign is not about politics it’s about people.
If you believe in community-driven change, if you want a Dublin where people are listened to, supported, and treated with dignity, I’m asking for your support, and your vote this By Election.
Every contribution helps us reach more people, fight harder, and push for real solutions!
Let’s build a Dublin that listens, acts, and lifts all of us up.
Colm Flood For you, For Dublin Central, For a Fairer Republic!
