Hunger in our hometown is an unfortunate reality many of our neighbors struggle with. That’s why Nuvision Credit Union is doing our part through our Help Fight Hunger Food Drive now through October 16, 2026, collecting financial donations for The Friday Food Bag Foundation.

Nuvision will match donations dollar for dollar, up to $5,000. Together with your support, we can provide relief to individuals and families in Wyoming.

ABOUT THE FRIDAY FOOD BAG FOUNDATION

The mission of the Friday Food Bag Foundation is to partner with the community to provide nutritious food to children who might not eat well – or at all – on the weekends. They serve 1,120 meal kits weekly in the Cheyenne and throughout Laramie County.

Data for the 2025-2026 school year indicates that 5,844 K-12 students (45.5% of total enrollment) in Laramie County School District #1 and 397 K-12 students (39.9% of total enrollment) in District #2 qualify for Free/Reduced meals.

Based upon results from childhood hunger programs in existence for several years, providing nutritious weekend meals for this at-risk population should not only alleviate their immediate hunger, but improve their overall health and performance levels during the school week.

"The mission of the Friday Food Bag Foundation is to partner with the community to provide nutritious food to children who might not eat well – or at all – on the weekends. We are an all-volunteer organization focused on community support. The program began in 2007 with a modest effort to help students facing food insecurity by providing a handful of bags each week.

It has since blossomed into an essential tool for addressing children and youth hunger. FFBF is now delivering over 1,200 food bags every single week at a weekly cost of more than $6,000. Whether making a donation of the food items FFBF uses every week or sharing a monetary donation, community members are the driving force behind our mission.
