During 12 years of incarceration, he has:

• Became an Ordained Minister
• Written and published multiple books
• Maintained a clean disciplinary record
• Counseled and mentored younger men
• Completed Duke University School of Theology coursework
• Registered as a jailhouse lawyer with the National Lawyers Guild
Instead of becoming bitter, Taquarius chose growth.
WHY IS IT WRONG:
This case was flawed from the beginning. The media twisted the story. There was no violence. No minors. No force. A consensual adult relationship was mischaracterized to justify extreme federal charges. Taquarius faced an all white jury and a sentence so excessive it punished him for going to trial rather than accepting a plea for something he didn't do.
He has already served more than enough time for a case that never should have been treated as a major federal offense.
