One Community Jiu Jitsu began with a simple mission: provide free Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to youth and families in Wyandotte County. As our programs grew inside local schools, we realized the most impactful and sustainable way to serve our community is to focus our free training where it matters most.. directly in the schools, during structured programming, with trained instructors and mentorship built in.

We are now providing free jiu jitsu exclusively to students inside their schools, where we can support:

-Attendance improvement

-One‑to‑one mentorship

-Safe, supervised physical activity

-Consistent weekly engagement

-Stronger relationships with teachers and families

This school‑based model allows us to reach more youth, more consistently, and with deeper impact.

What About Community Members?

We are still committed to making jiu jitsu accessible.

Youth and adults outside of school programs may qualify for a significantly reduced training rate — as low as $25/month depending on need.

This ensures we remain accessible while also protecting the sustainability of our school‑based programs.

Why We Updated Our Model

Running free programs for the entire community was meaningful, but not financially sustainable. By focusing our free services inside schools and offering reduced‑rate options for others we can:

-Maintain safe student‑to‑coach ratios

-Build long‑term stability for the organization
