FREE ADEENA KOHN -
UPDATE: MAY 8, 2026
In 7 weeks, this campaign has gathered more than 1300 petition signatures and reached at least 25 million views across Jewish communities. We held a successful April 12 protest with a LED truck and Hudson News coverage. The next protest is this Sunday, Mother’s Day, May 10 from 3pm - 5pm in Monsey.
We’re not slowing down. Help us close the gap.
⸻
WHERE YOUR DOLLARS GO:
• Protest execution and on-site security
• Strategic media amplification and graphic design
• Compliant text and call outreach campaigns
• Printed materials and rapid dissemination
• Engagement of professional mediators
• Targeted outreach to individuals and institutions enabling the status quo
• Legal and halachic pressure through court and Beis Din channels
When the Gett is given, remaining funds go directly to Adeena and her children.
No one profits from this campaign.
Funds cover expenses only. Volunteers donate their time.
⸻
THE BACKGROUND, FOR THOSE NEW HERE
On March 21, 2026, Living L'chaim platformed a panel on “divorced” Jewish men. One speaker introduced himself as “Imrei Phee.” He is not divorced. His name is actually Raphi Stein, a Gett Refuser of ~5 years, Adeena Kohn. A Seruv from the Beis Din of America and Rabbi Perlman's Beis Din reflects he allegedly ignored multiple summonses and formal warnings.
This is not a private marital dispute. This is documented Gett refusal which is a form of domestic abuse.
⸻
WHAT WE'VE TRIED SO FAR:
• Negotiation — Expert hostage negotiators engaged Raphi. His demands shift. He denies he’s a Gett refuser.
• The “divorce coach” — Raphi has publicly credited Simcha “Steve” Kornbluth as instrumental to his divorce. Kornbluth allegedly trains men in Gett-refusal tactics through his company, “The Smartest Divorce.” He hides behind “client confidentiality” though he holds no license. Volunteers approached him and his family to find a quiet path forward. They were met with deflection and lies — including a false claim that Rabbi Schabes endorsed the Gett refusal. They then blocked communication.
• Bad-faith Beis Din — A Seidenfeld Beis Din in Monsey produced a bittul seruv, then issued seruvim against Adeena and against Rabbi Willig. They were signed merely by the Beis Din secretary, not by dayanim.
⸻
This is not just about Adeena. It is about the epidemic of Gett refusal that hides in the shadows and Jewish women are extorted for their freedom.
Silence protects the status quo. Platforms create legitimacy. Funding finances pressure. Pressure creates outcomes.

*ORIGINAL POST from MARCH 23, 2026*
On March 21, 2026, Living Lchaim platformed a panel on “divorced” Jewish men.
One of the speakers introduced himself as “Imrei.”
He is not divorced.
According to publicly available information and community reporting, this individual is Raphi Stein, who is currently refusing to grant a Gett to his wife, Adeena Kohn.
A Seruv issued in 2023 by the Beis Din of America reflects that he allegedly ignored multiple summonses and formal warnings.
Let’s be precise:
This is not a private marital dispute.
This is an ongoing case of Gett refusal, with documented Beis Din involvement.
⸻
Additional allegations from those familiar with the case include:
• Ongoing access to the children while the Gett is withheld
• Prolonged litigation that allegedly preserves leverage through the Gett
• Reported outstanding child support obligations
• Employment structured in a way that may limit formal financial traceability
It has also been reported that a full settlement was offered in exchange for the Gett — and refused.
⸻
After public pressure, Living Lchaim removed the episode.
But removing a video after amplification is not accountability - it is damage control.
The real issue remains:
A platform was given to a man allegedly engaging in Gett refusal -
without disclosure, without challenge, and without responsibility to the woman still waiting to be released.
⸻
Pesach is days away.
We speak about liberation.
We tell ourselves we are no longer enslaved.
And yet, in our own community, a woman is still being held in a state of halachic captivity.
⸻
We are organizing coordinated action.
Funds will go toward:
• Protest execution + security
• Strategic media amplification
• Printed materials and rapid dissemination
• Coordinated pressure campaigns
• Engagement of professional mediators
• Targeted outreach to individuals and institutions enabling the status quo
• Legal and halachic pressure through both court and Beis Din channels
⸻
When the Gett is given, remaining funds will go directly to Adeena Kohn and her children, or refunded upon request.
⸻
Let’s stop pretending this is too complicated to act on.
Silence protects the status quo.
Platforms create legitimacy.
And pressure creates outcomes.
