Help Me Volunteer in Colombia for a Year!

Hallo zusammen!

Ich werde ab Juli diesen Jahres für ein ganzes Jahr mit der gemeinnützigen Organisation ICJA als Freiwilliger nach Kolumbien gehen.

Obwohl ich zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch keine konkrete Einsatzstellenplatzierung habe, wird mein Einsatz voraussichtlich in einem sozialen Projekt stattfinden – z. B. in einer Schule oder in der Arbeit mit Straßenkindern. Ich möchte Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene in schwierigen Lebenssituationen unterstützen, im Alltag helfen, Bildung fördern und einfach für andere da sein.

Für mich ist das nicht nur ein Auslandsjahr, sondern eine wichtige persönliche und gesellschaftliche Erfahrung: kultureller Austausch, soziales Engagement und gemeinsames Lernen.

Warum ich Unterstützung brauche

Obwohl ICJA mich organisatorisch begleitet, muss ich einige Kosten selbst tragen – darunter:

• Flug & Visum

• Programm- und Vorbereitungsgebühren

• Impfungen & Auslandskrankenversicherung

Da ich das Privileg habe an einem von Weltwärts geförderten Programm teilzunehmen, werden 75% jeglicher Kosten schon abgedeckt (mehr dazu hier: https://www.weltwaerts.de/de/kosten-und-leistungen-freiwilligendienst.html) Dennoch belaufen sich mein Anteil der Kosten trotzdem auf mindestens 3.600–4.000 €.

Daher freue ich mich riesig über jede Unterstützung – ob groß oder klein.

Ich werde während meines Jahres regelmäßig berichten – mit Bildern, Erfahrungen und ehrlichen Einblicken.

Hello Everyone!

I've received the incredible opportunity to spend a full year volunteering in Colombia through ICJA (International Cultural Youth Exchange) – a German non-profit organization focused on intercultural learning and global solidarity – starting this July.

Although I have not yet received the specific placement details, I will most likely help in a social project, such as a school or a shelter for children living on the streets. I’ll be helping with daily activities, offering support and educational help, and contributing to community life.

This is not just a travel opportunity – it’s a deeply meaningful chance to engage across cultures, support children in vulnerable situations, and grow through service.

Why I’m Asking for Your Support

While ICJA provides program guidance and preparation, I am personally responsible for covering the majority of costs related to:

• Flights & visa

• Health insurance & vaccinations

• Program & training fees

Despite this, the costs that I must cover myself amount to a minimum of €3,600–4,000!
