Fouta Islamic Center Of Philadelphia
About Fouta Islamic Center Of Philadelphia
We were established as a result of the dream of a group of immigrants from West Africa who share the same cultural and religious heritage to find a place where they can get together on a regular basis to worship their Creator and to provide an enabling environment for their children born in the U.S. to learn about their culture and religious background in order to make them productive members of society as a whole
A venture then commenced in the late nineties through individual donations, and it finally came into fruition in 2016 with the purchase of an old, dilapidated mechanic shop at 2525-25 S 71st Street, Philadelphia, PA. 19142 that is now under complete rehabilitation.
Our Commitment
At Fouta Islamic Center of Philadelphia, INC., we aim to provide a friendly atmosphere for people who a) are Muslims but want to expand on knowledge of their religion; b) are Non-Muslims that want to know a thing or two about Islam; c) are looking for a comfortable and sophisticated worship area; and d) are looking for an open and supportive community center.
Our Mission:
As we embody our Islamic values, our mission is to educate Muslims and Non-Muslims alike; to build partnerships with local businesses and organizations; and to extend various outreach programs to support the vulnerable and marginalized members of society.
Our Vision:
Guided by our values and inspired by our Islamic faith, we envision a community where all of its members are equal, empowered, and respected; a community where everyone has access to their needs; and a community where sincerity (Ikhlas) prevails
