FHSC provides resources such as clothing, toys, and best of all their emergency placement bags. Our emergency placement bags are filled with the first days of essentials such as underwear, socks, blanket and toiletries. They also include new baby bottles, diapers, wipes, used or new car seats, used or new cribs, pillows and blankets. FHSC hopes to alleviate some of the stress of trying to gather resources after a removal or during the term of being in foster care. We want to give children back some ownership when being displaced from their families. The unfortunate truth is most children leave their homes with only the clothes on their backs. This causes 2 issues; one, everything the children knew or sought comfort in is now gone and two, each foster family has to scramble at a moments notice to fill that void.
FHSC wants to continually bring awareness to neglect, behavioral health needs, trauma, ODD, ADHD, FASD, NAS and many other obstacles many foster children and families have to navigate on a daily basis. To support the family is to support the child. FHSC desires the community to help play a part in this journey, even if they are not able to become a foster parent themselves.
DONATIONS will help host events, support groups and our ongoing placement bag project. We continually reach out for items on our list but sometimes its easier to fill our shelves in bulk or when we discover a great sale. Only way to make those bigger purchases is with your help and donations. We appreciate all of those who have been a part of this journey so far, those who have donated, prayed and dedicated time to our cause.
If we raise at least $1,500, Modern Woodman Fraternal Financial will match it! FHSC could buy so many supplies for our placement bags, buy supplies, and host more events to continue our mission to support fosters. We are grateful to be chosen and given this opportunity. Any money donated between December 1st through December 22nd, 2020, will be counted towards the $1,500 total.
WE THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR DONATIONS!!!!
