Fire chief suffers medical emergency

Donation protected
Lenell Jones is our local United Communities Volunteer Fire Department Chief, previously serving 12 years at the U.S. Naval Academy as a firefighter. He is a loving husband to his wife Beverly and a proud father to his three children, Shakeara Jones, Xavier Jones, and Olivia Maddox. Lenell is a life-long Kent Island resident and a member of the local Waterman's Association, having spent countless days on the water to supply those incredible crustaceans we all want every weekend. Lenell recently celebrated his 50th birthday this past April 21st. On February 7th, Lenell suffered a stroke and is continuing to recover.

A fundraiser is being held on May 14th, from 2 pm-10 pm, at the Kent Island Elks club, located at 525 Romancoke Rd, Stevensville, MD 21666. There will be door prizes, some great baskets to bid on, silent auctions, a cornhole tournament at 4 pm, a live DJ, and some finger-licking-good BBQ cooked up by the United Communities BBQ crew. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided at no charge, and there will be a cash bar.

Whether or not you can attend, we ask for your donation to support a great event for a great man. We hope to see you there.
