My name is Charles Carraway. My family is currently experiencing hardship and right now I'm trying to find help anywhere I can. I have a 12 year old daughter named Mali who is on the Autism Spectrum (she's the one in the picture). My wife, Jennifer, who I've been married to for 17 years, has epilepsy and is also disabled. 6 months ago I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and pulmonary aerterial hypertension or PAH. In addition to the heart failure and PAH, I have an autoimmune disease called Good Pastures that attacks the lungs and kidneys. And last but not least, I'm being evaluated for Parkinson's because I have bad tremors the neurologists believe are not benign but rather Parkinsonian. Currently I'm on oxygen 24 hours a day, cannot work, and spend several days a week at specialists.

Last month we used what little we had to pay past due rent and what utilities we could. Our landlord raised our rent by over well over $500 back in August. An amount we would not have been able to afford even if I hadn't gotten sick. Around the same time we lost our car as well.

Our needs are pretty great and I know it's going to take a lot of help to reach our ultimate goal. $2000 will cover November rent including late fees, allowing us to fight another day. November's rent, including late fees, etc. must be paid by 10am next Wednesday, the 27th, in order to avoid eviction.

Our overall goal is to get through what's left of November and December without an eviction. Then in January we can find a safe, much more affordable, apartment or home for rent. Preferably a place where the rent reflects the rent. That's not the case here.
