We urgently need your help!
Friends of Stratfield Brake have just a few weeks to raise £50,000 to challenge Cherwell's reckless decision to formally approve Oxford United’s (OUFC's) stadium planning application. This development on ‘the Triangle', between Kidlington and North Oxford, would be massively detrimental to our communities.
We already have significant pledges, and believe that with your support, we can reach this target which will covers all legal fees and court costs etc.

Note on the GoFundMe ‘tip’ and fees: When you donate via GoFundMe it will ask for a contribution towards their running costs. This is optional and does not go towards our campaign. You do not need to ‘tip’ GoFundMe since it will automatically deduct a transaction fee from each donation.

Help Stop the Stadium
Our goal is to raise money for the judicial review. We have already taken legal advice and believe we have a good case. It won’t be easy and there is a chance of losing. But we have to try.
Concerns about impact on the local area:
- Closure of Oxford Road (A4165) on match days and other large events
- Regular traffic chaos on the local and wider road network
- Serious parking issues in Kidlington and North Oxford
- Controlled parking zones with annual fees for residents
- Limited space in Park & Rides for shoppers on match days
- OUFC has made no meaningful commitments to benefit the local community
Concerns about impact on the environment:
- It is the last bit of the Kidlington Gap not yet designated for development
- The protected woodland adjacent to the site, which experts believe is ancient woodland, would be damaged by the development
- The lack of political will to secure the Kassam Stadium as an ongoing home for OUFC does not justify a new stadium on the Green Belt
What if you have any funds left over?
FoSB’s goal is to raise enough money for a judicial review. If for any reason we have to stop the process, or if there are surplus funds after a judicial review, the funds will be given to a suitable local charity or cause. We will keep all our donors informed of progress.
