From Darkness to Light: books for prisoners!

From Darkness to Light is a book of letters written between Isabelle Sinclair, a then 21-year old woman in prison, and Stuart Perrin, a teacher of kundalini yoga meditation. These letters follow Isabelle's spiritual path, from what brought her into prison to what saved her from it.
I am the Isabelle in this story, and together with my teacher, Stuart Perrin, we're looking to raise enough money to donate at least five copies of this book to every correctional institution in Oregon: for men, women, and youth.
There are 13 state prisons for men in Oregon.
1 prison for women.
1 Federal prison.
And 5 prisons for youth offenders.
That's 20 total institutions, and 100 books.
It's a small goal, and we can reach it. Every donation goes directly to a book someone out there will pick up – the books are being donated at cost, whether we reach our goal or not. Five dollars can make a difference in someone's life.
My personal hope is that they can help someone – anyone – who was in as desperate a situation as I was when I walked through the gates of Coffee Creek. I know from the minimal two years I spent in prison that I was not alone in feeling lost. Everybody needs help, and I hope this book can provide that comfort and support for someone looking for a way to change.
