Enginoars - Rowing the Atlantic for sustainability

Donation protected
In December 2022, the Enginoars will row 5000 km unsupported across the Atlantic Ocean. They are taking on this challenge deemed "the world's toughest row" with the aim of raising funds for the sustainability and humanitarian charity Engineers without Borders.

About the team:
We are four friends and engineers from Norway and the UK with a collective fire for adventure.  We work daily as engineers, using our skills to tackle problems in neuroscience, rocket science, data science and marine propulsion. In addition to this, we have spent over two years building "the Enginoars" - an association dedicated to adventure and improving global sustainability.

About Engineers without Borders:
We partnered with this charity in particular due to their practical and pragmatic approach to solving a global problem. They function by running educational programs that connect young students and professionals with sustainability NGOs worldwide. In doing this, they help propagate global solutions that can be used to tackle sustainable development goals. Furthermore, they provide budding students and young professionals crucial access and exposure to sustainability problems - inspiring them and shaping a generation of problem solvers and sustainability champions.

Why we are fundraising:
We are committed to helping Engineers without Borders so that they can work with more NGOs and more students/young professionals across wider disciplinary ranges on more projects. For instance, making a donation in the UK can mean growing their Engineering for People Design Challenge - providing more students across the UK the opportunity to immersively learn about the global sustainability problem. Equally, in Norway it could mean expanding the Meaningful Masters program, connecting more students to impactful projects. Finally, EwB UK and Norway are small charities, with only a few employees working incredibly hard. This means that every penny raised goes a huge way in showing them that the work that they're doing is worth it. Please help us support these brilliant people who work their arses off for a better future.

How can you support:
To make things a little more exciting, we have some fundraiser categories - importantly at this stage all of our equipment and boat have been paid for - therefore every penny will be sent to Engineers without Borders.
