Together we rise: Help Launch Being D.A.D.

On January 31, 2001, my life was forever changed. I became the proud father of Darien Oliver Chase. Unfortunately, in 2014 the challenges associated with having shared custody of my son also changed my life. The emotional and mental stress caused me to seek professional help. As a result of my experience and hearing from other fathers who shared similar stories or worst, I realized the need for creating different alternatives. The first approach is to implement an educational proactive platform. This prepares dads to make better logical decisions when facing custody challenges. I learned that there is so much more fathers can do to be better prepared before attorneys gets involved.
To fill this void I'm starting a non-profit called "Being D.A.D." (Devoted and Duplicatable). The primary purpose of the corporation is to educate, and advocate for father's custody rights. Also empowering dads to understand their rights, and transitioning smoothly to become involved dads. The objective is to conduct community workshops in schools, churches, and youth centers. Implementing group discussions that will take place live, or via zoom in barber shops, or correctional facilities. We are looking to partner with mentoring organizations, social service organizations and other father's rights organizations for additional support.
To assist with legal and housing challenges, we are starting a Being D.A.D. resource fund.
I'm asking for your financial support to help with the initial start up costs for this endeavor. This includes State and IRS fees, website development, workshops, merchandise, and teaching materials.
You can also visit the bottom of the home page at www.fightingchanceonline.com to purchase "See It Through" wristbands or challenge coins.
Many dads including myself would have never thought that being in this position would create so much pain, and discomfort for them and their children. My hope is that no dad experiences this, but if they do "Being D.A.D." can prepare them ahead of time on how to navigate through the rough waters with this support system in place.
Thank you for your time and let's create a movement for acknowledging, and supporting dads who are fighting for the opportunity to be a consistent, and a influential part of their child's life.
