I’m Gina Jet, and for 26 years I have dedicated my work to serving the transgender and LGBTQ+ community through Transitions Makeup and Photo in Los Angeles, helping clients look and feel confident, seen, and free to express themselves. What began as a small business has grown into a trusted resource for people who have often struggled to find welcoming, judgment-free creative services. Now I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned over those 26 years and pass it on through a new Transitions Training Facility, a hands-on program designed to help LGBTQ+ people turn creative skills into real opportunities for economic independence.

This fundraiser will help me establish the physical training facility in Los Angeles by covering about three months of rent, the security deposit, and essential materials and improvements needed to prepare the space for students. In an intensive, bootcamp-style format, students will learn four core areas: gender-affirming makeup, studio photography, Photoshop and AI-assisted image retouching, and business practices, marketing, and client relations. My goal is to create an affordable, practical alternative for people who may not have the time, money, or access required for traditional educational programs.

At its heart, this project is about economic empowerment. LGBTQ+ people, especially those who have faced barriers to employment and financial stability, deserve the chance to build businesses, develop skills, and create their own livelihoods. By training aspiring LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs to offer specialized, affirming services in their own communities, this work can create a ripple effect far beyond one classroom. After 26 years of serving this community, I believe this next chapter is about passing the torch and creating opportunities for others to carry it forward.
