This past Friday night, our beloved Beth Avraham Yoseph of Toronto (BAYT) synagogue was struck by gunfire in a targeted attack. Multiple shots were fired at our front entrance just before midnight, damaging the building and shaking our entire community. Thankfully, no one was injured — but the message of hate was unmistakable.

Why We Are Raising Funds

To keep BAYT a safe, welcoming home for prayer, learning, and community, we must significantly strengthen our security infrastructure immediately. Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Security guards

• Enhanced cameras

• Stronger alarms

• Reinforced doors

• Ongoing security reviews

Our Community Response

Our leadership has been working closely with law enforcement, government officials, and security partners to ensure the safety of every member who walks through our doors. But security on this scale carries significant, ongoing costs. We cannot shoulder this alone.
