Eleora ... Her name means Light of God. Born on August 27, 2002 with partial trisomy  13,  a partial deletion of chromosome 9 and a missing wall between her left and right ventricle, Eleora wasn't expected to live past the age of 3.  She was never expected to be anything more than a newborn developmentally... 

For 16 years Eleora defied expectations. She loved to dance. She loved riding with her Dad on his duet wheelchair tandem bike. She loved playing Miracle League baseball. She adored her family. She made many, many friends.  Her laugh was infectious and her will indomitable. Over the years, uncounted numbers of doctors proclaimed uncounted times, words to the effect that they couldn't believe she had fought through some new difficulty.  Eleora fought for every morsel of joy, for every belly laugh, for every breath...
It would be an understatement to say that Eleora had a unique way of inspiring others, a way of shining a light into the dark places.  Her will power, incredible strength and joyous spirit have woven together an entire community of people who would have never met without her presence.  
On April 26, 2019 Eleora Devasha Toomey passed into God's Glory and we are left trying to find a way to honor her... to keep her light alive... to that end, we are establishing Eleora's Promise...to care for disabled children....a place where special needs children can laugh, learn, grow and thrive in a safe, loving and comprehensive environment.
