Estate2Plate - For the community and from the community
Estate2Plate is a project that can make a real difference for communities that have been overlooked and unheard for too long. I am raising funds to purchase a space in my council estate that will help tackle the food insecurity experienced by some of the most disadvantaged families. The shop here only sells the lowest quality of processed food and drinks and nothing fresh. This is a food desert in the Garden of England. With your help the new estate space will be used as a place where nutritious fresh food can belong. I have recently received support from the Minister for School Food, Sharon Hodgson and famous chef Jamie Oliver to name a few and although this is an amazing start I need your support to make a real difference for my community. Below is a list;e about me with links to media interviews.
Hi my name is Dominic Watters and on some socials as SingleDadSW. After years of raising my amazing daughter as a single dad in poverty, I started to speak up about the challenges and persecution my community faces. Through being interviewed on BBC Radio 4, the New Statesman , SkyNews , BBC Newsnight , ITV News and at the House of Lords , I began to see how my story, filled with despair, food insecurity and fuel poverty, resinated with people. I am now praying for your support so I can make some real changes around the food insecurity experienced in my council estate blocks and, beyond that, to be able to influence policymakers to help people across the country who do not know which way to turn.
