E & Aunt B becoming a happy family!

Hello, my name is Elyissia but most people just call me E. I turned 5 this past December and I am getting ready to start Kindergarten! Two years ago my life was not like it is now. I spent most of my time inside my Great-Grandmothers house playing, watching TV and being loved by Nana but I was missing out on all of the other things that kids usually get to do. My Aunt Beth and birth mother realized this and knew they had to intervene. They flew all of the way to Virginia to get me and brought me to San Diego to live with them. (This is when I realized how AWESOME airplanes are! Thank goodness Aunt B works in the Aviation industry!) My first few weeks in my new life were TOUGH! I learned how much it hurts to fall down at the playground, suffered horrific trauma when they insisted I be potty trained and then to top it all off they made me learn to share toys at daycare…..I’m still not a big fan of sharing but I do it ;)

Soon after I got settled into my Aunt Beth's house, my birth-mother decided what she had always felt…..even though she loved me (I mean who doesn’t? I’m pretty amazing!) she was not (emotionally or financially ) ready to be my mommy. Luckily my Aunt B was prepared for this and stepped up to the challenge of keeping up with me! (I’m pretty darn fast and sneaky like a ninja! Watch out! Haha!)

Aunt B is proud of me for the progress that I’ve made in my educational pursuits….I can write my name, recognize words and can draw a pretty amazing stick figure family!

I was accepted into my aunt’s life by all of her relationship groups as her daughter. Most people think that I am her daughter because we are so much alike with our silliness and have matching dimples! She is a bit nervous that I’m going to be a bit too confident growing up around martial artists, bikers and US Marines! I just know that I have an awesome future because now I am surrounded by so many amazing people to learn from! (Don’t worry!!! I promise that I won’t date any Marines Aunt B!)

Living with my Aunt B has had its perks! I’ve been to theme parks (I LOVE rollercoasters!!), I go to dance class (tap and ballet), enjoy pajama runs to Chickfila on Saturday mornings for chicken minis-YUM!, can sing just about any Disney or Michael Jackson song out there (Aunt B says that I should have been an 80’s baby…whatever that means) and just visited some place where I got to recline in a comfy chair and someone else actually brushed my teeth for me! How cool is that?!?!?

With all great things…..comes the bad……

I love my Aunt B and she loves me but that’s apparently not enough to fully take care of me. Her insurance company won’t let her get me medical coverage until I am legally adopted. Signing me up for Kindergarten is going to be a struggle too….Basically without a silly pack of papers from the San Diego Court house we are going to stress and struggle. We have researched and found that the cost of getting this adoption completed is far more then we can come up with in a very short amount of time. This is why I’m asking for help! My Aunt B is a Wonder Woman and is determinded to get this done but she would be forever grateful for any assistance to make this possible! All contributions will pay for the most expensive and precious papers my Aunt B will ever touch – My Finalized Adoption Forms!

Thank you!

E and my Aunt B :)
