I am pursuing the highest rank of Eagle with Scout Troop 1231 in Winfield, Maryland. I recently began my junior year at Century High School. In addition to being a Boy Scout, I am a member of the Century Marching Knights, a member of Young Life club, and I play lacrosse.

My project plan is to build a monument dedicated to veterans from my community. It will be built at Freedom Park located at 100 Raincliff Rd., Sykesville, MD. It will consist of a 21 by 34 foot cement base, with seven flagpoles to fly the American flag, a flag for each military branch, (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and POW flag), two benches, and a stone engraved monument with a dedication to veterans. My project will be a benefit to the community because it will provide a central location to render honor to local veterans. It will be a place of reflection for the entire community. It could be used for ceremonies for Flag Day, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, and other events. There is nothing like this in the Sykesville community. At the moment, I am in the fundraising stage. The estimated cost to complete this project is approximately $6,500.  I am hoping to raise enough money to complete my project in early spring of 2015. All money raised that is left over from the project will be donated to the Freedom Area Recreational Council.
