Errigal Truagh Special Needs Respite Fund
The covid restrictions of last couple of years have been challenging for everyone, especially those with an intellectual or physical disability, their carers and their families. Many would benefit from a break from the daily routine, and this fundraiser will assist them financially in taking a short holiday where they can relax and unwind.
After a 2-year break the Monaghan Branch of Parents and Friends of Persons with an Intellectual Disability will hold their annual charity fundraising swim at 1pm on Christmas Day at Emy Lake, Emyvale, Co. Monaghan.
The proceeds of the 2022 fundraising event will be passed to another local charity, Errigal Truagh Special Needs, who provide a day activation service for adults with physical/intellectual disabilities, including autism. Errigal Truagh also run a respite program of social and educational events that includes providing a holiday, with the necessary disability supports, for their service users. The holidays are funded entirely from charitable donations and rely heavily on volunteers to make them possible.
If you would like to help provide a much-needed holiday you can do this by contributing to the respite fund. We are also accepting sponsorship from the xmas day swim via gofundme this year.
