Everest's New Water Fountain

Hi our names are Sophie Sweeney and Shivani Patel, we are both seniors at Everest Public High School. On behalf of many inspired students, our club, EELT (Everest Environmental Leadership Team), works together to create one big impact each year. Last year we implemented Composting at Everest, this year we would like to replace the water fountain and promote more water bottle usage throughout all students and faculty!

At Everest, Students feel that the water does not taste good, resulting in bringing multiple plastic bottles. This station has a built in filter, delivering a cleaner and better tasting water supply. Along with a built in filter, the Elkay fountain is a hands-free and efficient way for all students to fill their bottles. The model we selected is, what the manufacturers call, “Vandal proof.” Investing the additional money will keep the fountain safe from accidents and irresponsible actions. We believe that installing a bottle filling station is a great long term investment that benefits not only the environment, but also the wallets of the community.
