Dustin's Peace Corps Adventure in South Africa

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

I am thrilled to announce that I have been invited to join the Peace Corps as a Health Extension Volunteer in South Africa. In July of 2024, I will embark on a meaningful 2-year journey of service to underserved communities.

As a Health Extension Volunteer, I hope to: empower individuals and communities to lead healthier lives and address critical health challenges through education, outreach, and capacity-building initiatives. From promoting maternal and child health to combating the spread of infectious diseases, my work will be guided by a commitment to holistic and multiculturally competent wellness.

In supporting my Peace Corps journey, you will help cover expenses such as pre-travel costs, living essentials, and any supplies needed. While the Peace Corps provides a modest stipend to cover basic living expenses, it's important to understand that volunteers often cannot make or save money during their service. Your support helps alleviate financial strain, allowing me to focus entirely on my mission of making a positive impact in South Africa.

While I am committed to serving as a Health Extension Volunteer in South Africa, unforeseen circumstances may arise that require additional financial support. Emergency funds will provide a safety net in the event of unexpected medical expenses, travel disruptions, or other urgent needs that may arise during my Peace Corps service. Your contributions will provide me peace of mind and ensure that I can navigate my time of service with resilience and determination.
