We are the Downey Family.

We are a husband and wife and 8 children. Five still at home.

As some may already know, we are Americans living in Europe for 8 years.

We moved to Europe for a dream employment opportunity but our situation changed and we lost our sponsorship.

In 8 years we have had family members face deportation 3 separate times due to inefficiencies in the immigration systems in Sweden and Malta.

Nearly 2 years ago we moved from Malta to Sicily to gain Italian blood right citizenship and escape the immigration hamster wheel.

For about the first year in Italy Gregory was without employment due to strict regulations regarding those waiting in the Citizenship Process and waiting for Permission to remain and work in Italy and within the EU.

Fortunately Gregory has been able to gain temporary employment in the USA, but is in an Under-Employed situation.

While Gregory and the Children have secured their Italian Citizenship - Hillary has yet to receive hers.

We would like to raise enough funds to help our immigration process and legal fees and recover financially as much as possible which would be a tremendous blessing until more sufficient employment can be secured.
