Help Dover-Eyota Marching Band Buy New Uniforms
Tax deductible
The Dover-Eyota Marching Band is badly in need of new uniforms. The Dover-Eyota Marching Band spends most of the summer practicing and performing around Southeast Minnesota festivals with over 100 member from Dover-Eyota Middle/High Schools.
Why does the band need new uniforms:
- The current uniforms are 14 years old and many have been mended so many times they are in rough condition (seams coming apart regularly, parts coming off).
- There are NOT enough uniforms to fit the whole marching band. For the past 2 years, the drumline has been in a separate uniform because of this. We own a set of 90 uniforms, which fits approx. 70 students. Our marching band numbers are around 100 for 2 yrs in a row. To fit that many members, we need 130 uniforms, minimum.
- Newer uniforms are made of better lighter material for designed for the hot summer weather.
Single new uniform, top and bottom costs $425, guaranteed to last 12 years.
Our total goal: $65,000
We already have a donation of $30,000 from an anonymous community member (THANK YOU!), $7,500 from community donations, $1,000 from Hiawatha Sno-Seekers, $5,000 from Viola Gopher Count Committee, $5,000 from the Dover Firefighters Association, $2,500 Eyota Legion, and $7,000 from the Dover-Eyota Eagles Foundation. If we can raise another $7,000, that would allow the band to also purchase new garment bags, hats, hat boxes, plumes, hangers, a few extra uniforms, uniform racks.
Students designed the new uniforms with DE Band Director Mr. Anderson and would need to be ordered by late December to be manufactured by this summer's season.
