I'm choking on my pride here, but I am kindly asking for a little help if you are able to. I hate asking anyone for anything, it's just not in my nature to do so ordinarily. But, the emotional and financial toll of this past year has created a bit of desperation and financial burden.
In June of 2024, my daughter lost her first child (my 1st grandson) to stillbirth. 2 days later, her mother walked out on me and her brother physically, but walked out on our daughter emotionally as well. The effect that has had on my kids' mental health over the last 11 months has been severe. It's unbearable to watch as a father. Absolutely horrible.
The money I am trying to raise is to admittedly help offset *some* of my lost wages due to events like staying home with my son after a night of crying about his mother, but also help with future therapy and other things for my kids. Please do not feel obligated to donate, it is not a measure of our friendship. There are a million other worthy campaigns out there you could choose instead.
My therapist challenged me to create this campaign saying, "Doug, you always do everything you can for everybody else, it's okay to ask others to help you, too." So as uncomfortable as it is, I am kindly asking for any help. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated but obviously not necessary. Thank you for your consideration. Please take care of yourself.
