My name is Chris Neal. My sister-in-law, Hannah, received a breast cancer diagnosis shortly after discovering they were pregnant with her third child, Willow. My brother (Nate) and his wife (Hannah) acted quickly and went along with a recommended mastectomy early in Hannah's pregnancy. The Mastectomy did not remove all cancer, so Dr. Bhatia (oncologist) at Community North found chemotherapy deemed safe to start while pregnant. Hannah began this treatment after her surgery. Hannah stayed strong and continued her treatments regularly throughout her pregnancy. Due to complications around 30 weeks of pregnancy, further scans were required and showed three separate growths on Hannah's liver. After reviewing her case, a radiologist found it safe to biopsy these growths while pregnant. Unfortunately, the lesions turned out to be metastatic carcinomas, elevating her breast cancer to Stage 4. This prompted the oncology department to recommend inducing birth shortly after the 32-week mark for baby Willow. Hannah was induced on 11/20/2022 and gave birth to Willow on the evening of 11/22/2022. Layla (4) and Nolan (1) have been waiting anxiously to meet their little sister, who is still in the NICU but doing very well.

They have remained positive through this hardship, but we know the medical expenses are piling up immensely. These funds will be used moving forward to help with some of the medical costs, child care, and other incidentals resulting from this uphill battle with cancer. Hannah has begun her second, more aggressive treatment to attack the lesions found on the liver. The road ahead is long and challenging.

Anyone who knows Hannah knows there isn't a person in the world she wouldn't help in their time of need. I know the number seems large to achieve, but this is only a small portion of the financial burden for their family. Thank you for your time and for learning about the Neal family.
